About our President
We celebrate the official start of a new era at Caribbean Nazarene College! The inauguration of our 13th President, Rev. Dr. Orlando Seale, took place at the Chapel of the Santa Cruz campus on Friday, 26th May, 2017 at 7:00 pm.
Rev. Dr. Orlando Seale is a Barbadian by birth and has lived there for most of his life. He is one of four children and has been happily married for the past 33 years to Marcelle nee Mc Collin. Mrs. Seale currently serves as Campus Hostess at CNC. The couple has been blessed with two sons Renaldo, 31 years of age and Ricardo who went to be with the Lord 10 years ago at age 19. Renaldo is an honors graduate from the University of the West Indies and the Caribbean Nazarene College. He currently serves as Pastor in Barbados.
Rev. Seale was born – again in 1976 and answered his call to ministry 5 years after entering CNC in 1981. As a final year student in 1984, he served as the Student Body President and graduated at the top of his class with a Diploma in Ministerial Studies.
Since his graduation, Rev. Seale has furthered his studies completing two first degrees, including a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Psychology with Upper Second Class honors from the University of the West Indies. He also completed his Masters and a doctorate in Nouthetic (Biblical) Counselling.
After pastoring for 15 years, serving on most of the National Boards of the denomination and co- founding the denomination’s Credit Union among other initiatives, the Barbados district selected him as District Superintendent in 1998.He served in that role for 18 years, the youngest and longest serving in the church’s 93-year history. During his tenure as District Superintendent, Dr. Seale was the main host of the weekly radio broadcast “Because He Lives” and commissioned the writing of the history of the Nazarene Church in Barbados. The historical text, “Molding Communities Touching Lives” was written by noted University historian, Dr. Henderson Carter.
In April 2017, Superintendent Seale upon hearing from the Lord, relinquished his ministry in Barbados to accept the Presidency of Caribbean Nazarene College (CNC).
Beyond the Church of the Nazarene, Dr. Seale served in different capacities as a leader. He and his wife were judges for the Nation’s Newspaper’s, “Forever I do” annual couple’s competition. He also served as Chairman of the Barbados Holiness Movement for 12 years and co-founded the Family, Faith and Freedom Movement, which was established to protect and defend Biblical family values. Out of this movement, the Save Our Sons (SOS) Foundation was also formed as a consequence of his initiative.
For his role in the church and Religious education, the Barbados government recommended him to Queen Elizabeth, the Second, for honors in her 2018 New Year’s Day presentation. Dr. Seale received the third highest honor in the Commonwealth, “Honorary Commander of the British Empire, CBE; Esq. These titles were conferred on him at a public ceremony by the Governor General of Barbados on April 7th, 2018.
Above all Dr. Seale and his wife, Marcelle are excited to be the servants of Christ and his people. To God be all the glory!!!!
